Essential life skills
by usualusername inwhat skills/habits do you believe all humans should develop/have to make them more valuable to society?.
every person should know how to swim.
jovial.

Serious: Have the skills to feed, cloth and shelter themselves in the case of an emergency, cook (real cooking, not from a can), sew, basic electrical, basic plumbing, basic building, math, reading, writing, communication and how to say NO. And this isn't a skill but every human needs to look at things as fixable and not disposable.
Jovial: Masking farts in public, polite staring and how to do almost anything naked (safely).

In gods image
by ballistic inso, why are we like the animals if the bible says we are made in almighty gods image.
this should be an asy question.?

What a load of crap. If we were made in his image then, no matter how much testing and deception, we wouldn't "sin", even with free will.
Can the christian/jewish/creationist god lie or sin? No? Then his creation shouldn't be able to either unless God didn't really make us in his image but made us flawed, or the whole thing is a lie.

So much for their purported growth.
Looks like jayhoover is speeding it up so fast they’re forced to downsize.

Thanks for the experience.
I'm still "in" but checked out and I don't like associating or being seen with the witlesses; now I won't feel so bad when I run away from them.

It makes me sad.
by Matsimus inrecently, when saying goodbye to my grandmother, who i only see a few times a year, she started tearing and said something that made me very sad.
she said she had to tell me that the door to jehovah's kingdom is closing at any moment now, and that if i didn't do anything now, it would be to late.
to her, she is facing an eternity without her grandchildren and it makes her very sad.

When an elderly witless is facing their end in "this system" it scares them because they thought, and were always taught, that they would see the big A. I think many are having (secret) doubts and are just looking for affirmation to the beliefs they held so dear for so long.

Anxiety attacks and Door to Door Activity...what have you observed?
by Momma-Tossed-Me induring door to door activity in the distant past i have had the experience of witnessing actual anxiety attacks of jw's who could not handle that required preaching on that day and on more than one occasion.. this is what i have seen on multiple occassions.. extreme headaches, upset stomach to the point of vomiting, visible trembling before even approaching the door, arguments with spouses and children, signs of elevated blood pressure, light sensitiity, a total character change, and basicly a complete shut down to the point of limited communication.
yes we all have butterflies in the stomach associated with certain activities but what i am talking about here bodily affliction to the point of physically affecting the individual in some cases for the rest of the day.. these symptoms are obviously present for some newbie to this type of activity but i have observed this from people who have been exposed to this type of work for years.
i think the body just cannot handle the stress anymore, and the marination in the hormones associated with it.

I find the less witless things I do the better my mental health gets.
For years I couldn't figure out what was causing my eating disorder and why I was so anxious/depressed, now I know.

I grudgingly watched it and now have the heebie-jeebies from all the lies.
This DVD is so full of shight it needs to come with a full Tyvec contamination containment suit (with the optional attached vomit bag) to watch it.

Question to those who are still JW's.....
by XPeterX inhave you done a "sin" that you didn't confess to the elders?.
-
Disillusioned Lost-Lamb
When I was still trying to believe I figured whatever I did wrong was between God and I, no one else.
Now that the veil has been lifted I don't believe I've "sinned", so what would there be to confess?
And well there is the fact that, regardless of conviction, I wouldn't tell those hypocritical bastards anything!
Questions to fence sitters: Can the elders really help you? If you confess anything do you think they will actually help, or instead chastise, manipulate and crush you? Who truly benefits from a confession?
Deep down we know the REAL answer to these questions, so don't feel guilty, mnkay?
